We are looking for a Cleaner/Orderly to join our team inGreymouth. This is a rewarding role where you will play an important part insupporting patients, staff and visitors by maintaining high standards ofcleanliness and hygiene across our hospital facilities, while also providingorderly services. About the role As a Cleaner/Orderly, you will be responsible formaintaining clean, safe and hygienic clinical and non-clinical environments.You will also assist with the safe and timely movement of patients, equipmentand materials throughout the hospital. Your responsibilities will include: Cleaningassigned clinical and non-clinical areas in accordance with Health NewZealand cleaning standards and work schedules Maintainingconsistently high standards of cleanliness and presentation Followinginfection prevention and control practices and using approved cleaningproducts and equipment Safelymanaging waste and body fluid spills in accordance with organisationalprocedures Operating,cleaning and maintaining commercial cleaning equipment Monitoringand replenishing cleaning supplies and reporting stock shortages Safelystoring cleaning chemicals and equipment Providingsafe, timely and professional patient, equipment and material transfers Supportinga positive patient experience and the efficient operation of the hospital About you You will be a reliable and practical person who takes pridein your work and enjoys being part of a team. You will understand theimportance of providing a clean, safe and respectful environment for patients,visitors and staff. To be successful, you will have: Previousexperience in cleaning, housekeeping, hospitality or a similar serviceenvironment is preferred Theability to follow procedures, instructions and health and safetyrequirements Astrong understanding of the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and safety Goodcommunication skills and the ability to interact respectfully withpatients, visitors and staff Theability to work effectively as part of a team Professionalismand the ability to maintain confidentiality Thephysical ability to undertake the requirements of the role, includingstanding, bending, lifting and moving equipment Acommitment to Health and Safety, Infection Prevention and Control andorganisational policies and procedures It would be an advantage if you have: Previousexperience in healthcare, aged care, hospitality or another highlyregulated environment Experienceusing commercial cleaning equipment and healthcare cleaning products Knowledgeof healthcare cleaning standards and infection prevention and control Knowledgeof safe chemical handling and use of PPE Experienceworking independently and managing tasks within agreed timeframes Awillingness to undertake training and continue developing your skills Apositive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork andexcellent customer service Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
