Hillpark Kindergarten, Manurewa – Full Time Head Teacher Job Code: HTHILLP541 This is a full time position (40 hours per week) in an established and well-resourced Kindergarten in the Manurewa area. The Kindergarten caters for children aged 2-5 years old in a mixed age setting, licensed from 8.00am – 3.30pm, including term breaks. There is occupancy for 40 tamariki and a 1:10 teacher to child ratio. The kindergarten has a well-established kaupapa of environmental sustainability and the successful applicant will be a creative, enthusiastic and energetic teacher with an open-to-learning mindset who will support these initiatives. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Head Teacher (with a Full Practising Certificate) to lead this team. Experience in a kindergarten setting, pedagogical leadership, as well as understanding of centre finances, occupancy and attendance would be an advantage, along with a commitment to professional development and on-going learning. We are seeking a Teacher who is versatile and a great communicator, who can lead and deliver quality teaching practices in a team environment, work with Tamariki in a mixed age setting, and is willing and proactive around change. The successful applicant must have: sound knowledge of current approaches to teaching and learning be committed to on-going professional development demonstrate strong and inclusive leadership qualities have a passion for supporting, extending and documenting children’s learning, therefore strong ICT skills are a must.
