Food and Nutrition Teacher - Commencing 2027 Full time, Permanent Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher Health and physical education, Technology We are seeking a permanent, fulltime teacher of food and nutrition to join our team and deliver high-quality teaching across Years 9–13, to commence in Term 1, 2027. As a teacher of food and nutrition, you will plan and deliver effective programmes aligned with curriculum expectations, incorporating practical food skills, nutrition, food science and contemporary issues relating to food and wellbeing. You will use a variety of teaching strategies and digital tools to enhance student learning and play a key role in supporting student progress through assessment, feedback and mentoring. Deliver engaging food and nutrition programmes to students across Years 9–13 Plan and implement innovative, practical and theory-based lessons using varied and effective pedagogies Develop students' knowledge and skills in food preparation, nutrition, food science and healthy lifestyles Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records and providing constructive feedback Use ICT, including Office 365, to support teaching, learning and assessment Maintain effective classroom management and a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment, particularly during practical activities Ensure appropriate food safety, hygiene and health and safety practices are consistently followed Participate in departmental meetings and professional development Undertake the Kaiārahi role, mentoring a small group of students and supporting their academic pathways Contribute to wider school life, including extracurricular activities and events You will bring: A recognised teaching qualification and current NZ teacher registration Strong curriculum knowledge and effective teaching practice in food and nutrition, food technology or a closely related subject area Confidence in delivering practical food-based learning and managing a specialist classroom environment Knowledge of nutrition, food safety, food preparation and contemporary food-related issues Confidence using digital tools in teaching and learning Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills The ability to build positive and respectful relationships with students, staff and whānau A commitment to inclusive practice and meeting the diverse learning needs of students A commitment to ongoing professional learning and development #J-18808-Ljbffr
