Systems Training Specialist
Chapman Tripp is one of New Zealand's leading large law firms, with a 150-year track record and an appetite for progress. We're looking for a Systems Training Specialist for a 12-month fixed term contract, working 30 hours per week, to help modernise the way our people learn our core systems and AI tools, from onboarding to ongoing training. This is a genuine hands-on opportunity to design a smarter, more sustainable training model and to see it embedded across the firm.
What you'll do
- Design, develop and deliver a broad range of software training solutions, from onboarding through to specialist systems and AI tools
- Partner with our IT team and L&D Specialist to build an onboarding and system training framework that gets the right information to the right people at the right time
- Deliver, reshape and streamline our current IT induction training, for increased effectiveness and relevance
- Keep pace with new AI and digital tools alongside our AI & Digital team, weaving them into training as they land
- Maintain clear, current resources via SharePoint and our Learning Management System
- Gather feedback from learners and use it to keep training materials sharp and relevant
- Build a model, and a handover plan, that sets up the IT Service Desk and L&D Specialist for long-term success
What you'll bring
- 5+ years' experience in systems training, with a solid grounding in adult learning principles and learning evaluation
- Instructional design experience across online, face-to-face and on-the-job formats, spanning onboarding, compliance and systems training
- Confidence with authoring tools such as Captivate, Chameleon or Articulate Storyline, as well as strong Microsoft Office skills
- Confident interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and influence across a wide range of stakeholders
- Genuine curiosity about how work is changing, comfortable exploring and adopting AI and other new tools
- Enthusiasm for helping others build confidence with new ways of working
- A pragmatic, detail-focused approach; and strong customer and quality focus
- Prior experience in professional services, and an NZ Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Level 4) would be an advantage
What we offer:
- Be part of a collaborative and high-performing National People & Culture team
- Competitive salary and benefits package including annual wellbeing allowance
- Groups and activities to suit your interests: arts & culture, sports, regular team and firm events for connection
We are a collaborative workplace of smart, passionate and hardworking people, united by a commitment to excellence.
