We're looking for a Senior Software Development Manager to join our team in Auckland. In this role, you'll lead across multiple engineering teams, develop managers and engineers, and create the conditions for high performance and reliable delivery. You'll work closely with Product, Design and Engineering leadership to align roadmaps, navigate complex technical decisions and drive improvements across the wider engineering organisation. The ideal candidate brings strong people leadership, deep technical delivery experience and the judgement to know when to step in, when to step back and how to help others lead.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead Engineers directly and through managers across multiple engineering teams.

  • Coach and develop leaders.

  • Partner with Product and Design to align strategy, roadmaps and delivery.

  • Create clarity through clear expectations, useful feedback and opportunities to grow.

  • Keep delivery moving by removing blockers, managing risk and supporting reliable execution.

  • Stay close to the tech through system design, code reviews and hands-on Golang where useful.

  • Drive higher standards in engineering quality, reliability and continuous delivery.

  • Help teams navigate complex technical decisions and make good trade-offs.

  • Drive improvements across the wider engineering organisation.

  • Build strong relationships across Engineering, Product, Design and the wider business.

What you need to bring:

  • Experience leading and developing high-performing engineering teams, including other people leaders.

  • A strong technical foundation and hands-on software engineering experience.

  • Experience delivering complex software or SaaS products across multiple teams.

  • A track record of giving clear feedback and helping people grow.

  • Good judgment and confidence, knowing when to step in or step back.

  • Comfort working in an environment where priorities, teams and technology evolve.

  • A collaborative approach to working with Product, Design and other stakeholders.

  • Curiosity about new technology and better ways of working.
