You will be joining our Private Enterprise - Advisory practice who work alongside New Zealand's privately-owned businesses and help them achieve their strategic goals. Our clients, include international businesses, private companies and high net worth families who operate and invest across a variety of industries rely on us for insights, manage compliance and to drive growth.

The opportunity:

  • We're looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Private Enterprise team in Auckland and play a pivotal role in the success of these clients.
  • You will form part of a team that builds trusted relationships and with training and support provide insights that drive decisions and guide critical transitions, supporting not just business operations, but the ambitious families and entrepreneurs behind them.
  • You will get to work alongside other like-minded professionals who are focused on privately owned business but also be connected to the broader KPMG expertise in other service lines.

Day to day you will:

  • Manage a portfolio of client engagements, consulting with Partners and Directors as appropriate.
  • Be part of a team that assists clients with a variety of financial deliverables; including management reporting, cash flow forecasts, provisional tax, GST, FBT.
  • Engage with clients to understand their challenges and offer solutions, including providing assistance where required with business tools, such as Xero, Taxlab and Excel.
  • Deliver engagements to high quality, commercial and profitability standards, including utilisation and productivity expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong external networks with peers, alumni, global contacts, social contacts and existing clients.
  • Use your knowledge of KPMG's service offerings to identify and generate new business opportunities.
  • Develop valuable engagement knowledge, proposals, case studies and deliverables that can be shared across the firm.
  • Coaching, developing, supervising, and providing quality assurance for staff work
  • Grow your technical or practice area expertise while staying aware of industry, market and competitor trends.
  • Utilisation of AI tools to efficiently deliver the best outcomes for clients

What you will bring to our team:

  • 4+ years of experience in a business advisory role. Preferably from a mid-tier or big 4 environment.
  • A proactive, client-focused mindset dedicated to driving business growth and innovation.
  • Commercial acumen and an ability to achieve financial and operational objectives.
  • Strong analytical ability to transform data into strategic insights.
  • Exceptional communication skills, adept at engaging a diverse range of clients.
  • The ability to build constructive relationships across teams and share knowledge to support others.
