The Opportunity As Duty Manager, you'll co-ordinate and oversee the running of the hotel in the absence of the Hotel Manager or Guest Experience Manager, with a particular focus on Front Office operations, hotel security and maximising profitability. You'll act as the face of the hotel and its ambassador — empowered to resolve guest requests and issues on shift, and responsible for the safety, security and smooth running of the hotel, its staff and its guests. Key Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day running of the hotel while on shift, ensuring all departments are adequately staffed and operating smoothly. Act as the face and ambassador of the hotel, greeting guests professionally and managing VIP and group arrivals. Manage the hotel complaint system, resolving guest requests and issues in a professional, timely manner. Maximise average room rate and occupancy through yield management and liaison with key departments. Direct and supervise Front Office personnel, supporting training, rostering and staff development. Lead the hotel through crisis management or incident response, ensuring security and WH&S compliance at all times. What You’ll Bring Previous experience in a Duty Manager, Front Office or hotel supervisory role. Strong leadership skills, with the confidence to direct a team and make decisions under pressure. A commercial mindset, with an understanding of room rates, yield management and departmental budgets. Excellent guest service instincts and the composure to resolve complaints and unexpected issues professionally. A working knowledge of hotel systems, security procedures and crisis or incident management. The flexibility to work a variety of shifts as part of a full time roster.
