Senior Property Accountant

Description Our client is a well-established New Zealand property services business, managing a diverse commercial property portfolio on behalf of institutional and private landlords. The finance team is collaborative and hands-on, with a strong focus on accuracy and service to property and asset managers. The Role Reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll take ownership of finance delivery across two distinct property portfolios, managing accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations and GST compliance. You’ll also contribute to annual budgeting and prepare quarterly variance reporting presented to asset managers and property managers. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end accounts payable and receivable across two property portfolios Prepare and review bank reconciliations and monthly opex wash-up reconciliations Support annual budget preparation in collaboration with property and asset managers Maintain the general ledger, including month-end accruals and GL reviews Prepare and review GST returns and reconciliations Prepare quarterly variance reports and commentary for asset managers Support payment approvals and liaise with internal and external audit Act as a key point of contact for property managers on financial queries Key Skills & Experience Required CA/CPA qualified, ideally with property or real estate exposure Proven experience across accounts payable, receivable and bank reconciliation processes Strong GST compliance and reconciliation experience Confident preparing variance reports and communicating with non-finance stakeholders High attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills Advanced Excel skills; experience with property management systems highly regarded Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities across multiple portfolios What’s In It For You This role offers genuine variety, with two distinct portfolios giving you broad exposure across AP, AR, GST and reporting.
