Career and Development Consultant Location: Manawatū Campus Job type: Full time, permanent Department: Student Development & Partnerships Salary: $71,274-$101,329 - 1FTE, 37.5 hours per week Empower students to shape their future Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa | Massey University is seeking a dynamic and experienced Career and Development Consultant to join our Student Development & Partnerships team at our Manawatū campus. About the role You will support ākonga (students) to navigate their career development journey with confidence and intention. You will help them build employability skills, clarify their goals and transition successfully into work, self-employment or further study. Key responsibilities include: Designing and delivering career readiness and employability programmes Providing one-to-one career guidance and coaching, both in person and online Supporting students to articulate their skills through CVs, portfolios, LinkedIn profiles and interviews Fostering leadership, innovation and entrepreneurial capability Collaborating with academic staff, employers and alumni to create meaningful development opportunities Managing and mentoring Massey Guides, Career Centre Ambassadors and interns as required About you You will bring: A tertiary qualification in career development or a related discipline, such as career guidance, human resources, organisational psychology or learning and development At least five years' experience in career development, learning, employability or a related field Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and staff A student-centred, inclusive approach and high emotional intelligence An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to strengthening bicultural competence Experience in the tertiary sector and/or recruitment is desirable.
