Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician, Counties Manukau District Middlemore Hospital, Permanent Part time 0.7FTE Full Time Hours We are looking for the right person to join our team, so if you are flexible, organised, a team player and likes working with people from diverse backgrounds, this is the role for you. The position will be 7 days per fortnight permanent post-midnight shift. Flexibility with working hours is also required, able to participate in weekend roster and some call-back. The successful applicant will work at Middlemore Hospital. About the Role We are looking for an experienced MSC-registered Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician (MLPAT). Previous experience in specimen receiving, sorting, registration, send-away and referred testing, urine bench work, and special potting tests is highly desirable. About the Team/Service/ Location The Specimen Services team is at the heart of the laboratory, providing essential support for diagnostic testing across Counties Manukau. Join our dedicated Specimen Services team of 20 professionals who play a vital role in supporting patient care across Counties Manukau. Our team is responsible for receiving, processing, and managing a wide range of laboratory specimens from more than 50 wards at Middlemore Hospital, as well as supporting collection services at Middlemore Hospital and Manukau Health Park. We also provide laboratory support to seven dialysis units located across Manukau Health Park and various satellite clinics, ensuring timely and accurate specimen handling across the region.
