About the Role As the Nurse Manager for the IOC, you will provide clinical, operational, and professional leadership to our Pool and Casual Registered Nurses and Health Care Assistants. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe staffing, effective resource coordination, and smooth patient flow across Taranakis hospitals. Working closely with the IOC Manager, you will uphold high standards of patient safety and care quality, support variance response procedures, and foster a cohesive, high-performing nursing team. The Hospitals Assessment Unit Clinical Nurse Manager will report directly to the Nurse Manager IOC and you will work very closely with the Duty Nurse Manager. Key Responsibilities Lead and support the IOC nursing workforce, including Pool and Casual RNs and HCAs. Support the coordination hospital resources to ensure safe staffing and timely patient care. Oversee recruitment, orientation, and ongoing training for IOC nursing staff. Maintain staffing availability to meet hospital service needs. Support talent identification and workforce development. Collaborate with service leads to uphold quality and patient safety standards. Support hospital escalation alerts and coordinate responses. This includes variance response management leadership and hospital emergencies responses. Promote innovative thinking, service improvement, and team cohesion. Support acute flow improvements across hospital services. A motivational leadership style with strong interpersonal skills. Strong people management and recruitment experience, including talent identification. The ability to build effective teams and drive service development. A commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
