Description About the Company VSL Landscape is a growing landscape and construction project management company based in Albany, Auckland. They're on a mission to become one of New Zealand's leading players in the space, with a hands-on, ownership-driven culture as the business scales. The Role This newly created Financial Accountant role supports the General Manager across back costing, financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, and cashflow. You'll start by nailing down cost allocation and offshore procurement processes, then shift focus to reporting, analysis and driving cost efficiencies across the business. Key Responsibilities Complete back costing and cost variance analysis across live projects Allocate project costs accurately to the correct cost codes Manage accounts payable and receivable end to end Nail down and improve offshore procurement and AP processes with the Philippines team Maintain cashflow forecasting and reporting Support month-end reporting and liaise with the external accountant Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities across the business Get involved in commercial and subcontractor administration as the role develops Key Skills & Experience Required Construction, civil or trade-based accounting background essential Experience with payment claims highly regarded Strong Excel skills, Procore and Xero experience a big plus CA/CPA not required, though qualified candidates welcome Commercially minded with a sharp eye for cost and margin Self-starter with strong EQ and a genuinely hands-on attitude Comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-paced, growing business What's In It For You This is a genuinely hands-on role with real scope to make it your own.
