Applications close 12/09/2026 Reference REQ2086 Employment type Permanent Location 225 De Havilland Drive, New Plymouth 4312 NZL About the Role: As a Line Mechanic Team Leader, you will lead a team tomanage and deliver work safely, efficiently and positively, you’ll providehands-on technical support, scoping and planning assistance, and ensure alljobs are completed to specification, on time, and within budget. You’ll workclosely with supervisors and management to align on job objectives whileensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards. Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will be responsible for leading,motivating, and directing team members to achieve agreed work objectives whilemaintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational performance. Youwill complete Workplace Competency (WTC) assessments across people, plant,equipment, and site activities, conduct audits and quality checks, and ensureplant and equipment are compliant, tested, fit for purpose, and in good workingorder. You will promote a proactive safety culture through toolbox checks andeffective communication, while accurately scoping jobs and identifyingenvironmental and other influencing factors. You will plan and allocate labour,plant, and materials, ensuring jobs are correctly scoped and priced, and thathours, plant, and equipment are accurately allocated to the appropriate job ornon-chargeable codes. You will interpret technical drawings and specifications,provide guidance to the team, and ensure all required reports are completedaccurately and on time. You will also identify opportunities for cost savingsand continuous improvement, while communicating financial performance and jobprogress to the team in a clear, practical, and engaging way. Experience: Relevant electrical trade qualification(s) NZ Electrical Registration (EWRB) with a current practisinglicence Strong knowledge of Codes of Practice, relevantlegislation, policies, standards, and the Safe Manual Electricity Industry(SE-MI) Current Workplace Competencies (WTCs) as required for therole Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience Proven team leadership experience Strong planning and organisational skills Ability to foster and promote a positive safety culture Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability High integrity, consistency, and composure under pressure Ability to motivate, influence, and support others What We Offer: Our team is committed to creating a positive and supportivework environment where collaboration is highly valued.
