Our Product Team is looking for a talented Graphic Designer (Casual) to support the creation of graphic prints, packaging, branding assets and seasonal product artwork. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a passionate team and contribute to exciting projects for one of Australasia's leading outdoor brands. From researching emerging trends and illustrating original concepts to developing production-ready artwork and sustainable packaging solutions, you'll help ensure every product embodies the Kathmandu brand and inspires customers to get out there. You will: This is a casual opportunity based in our Christchurch Support Office, offering flexibility to support key product development and seasonal design projects as business needs require. Research emerging design, graphic and consumer trends to inform seasonal concepts and collections. Create original artwork for repeat prints, placement prints, yarn dyes, accessories and equipment. Develop creative packaging solutions that balance functionality, sustainability and brand storytelling. Design seasonal branding elements, trims and labels across multiple product categories. Present concepts and designs to key stakeholders across Product and Marketing teams. Create accurate, production-ready artwork for suppliers and manufacturing partners. Maintain consistency across all product graphics, packaging and branding in line with Kathmandu's brand guidelines. What We’re Looking For… You’ll thrive in this role if you: Previous experience in graphic design, ideally within apparel, retail, lifestyle or outdoor brands. Strong illustration, print and packaging design skills.li> A portfolio showcasing creative and commercially relevant design work. Hold a Design qualification or equivalent industry experience. Have strong illustration skills and experience creating graphics for textiles, apparel or product applications. Bring experience designing packaging, branding assets and print‑ready artwork. Have a strong understanding of garment printing, textile printing and packaging production methods. Possess excellent skills across Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Have a portfolio that demonstrates creative thinking and high‑quality design execution. Are highly organised with exceptional attention to detail. Understand current design trends, consumer behaviours and emerging visual directions. Communicate effectively and enjoy collaborating across multiple business functions. Are self‑motivated, proactive and comfortable managing multiple deadlines. Experience working with PLM systems is advantageous. Knowledge of the outdoor industry and product development processes is highly regarded.
