We're looking for an experienced and strategic Business Assurance Senior Manager to lead our Financial Crime Business Assurance function. This is a key leadership opportunity within Risk & Compliance, responsible for shaping and evolving our Financial Crime assurance approach to ensure it remains effective, insightful and fit for an increasingly complex regulatory environment. Leading a team of experienced QA Managers, you'll drive assurance excellence, strengthen risk culture and provide oversight that helps ASB continue delivering strong financial crime outcomes for our customers and communities. You’ll work closely with leaders across Financial Crime Operations, Risk and Compliance, using assurance insights, trends and reporting to influence decisions, support continuous improvement and enhance management oversight across Financial Crime Operations. Your key responsibilities will include: Leading and developing a high-performing team of QA Managers, fostering strong capability, engagement and continuous improvement. Overseeing quality assurance frameworks, reporting, insights and trend analysis across Financial Crime Operations. Providing expert assurance challenge while maintaining strong, constructive relationships with operational stakeholders. Interpreting regulatory developments and legislative change to ensure assurance activities remain relevant and effective. Identifying themes, risks, training opportunities and process improvements through assurance reviews and insights. Driving transformation initiatives and future-focused ways of working, including the use of emerging technologies and AI where appropriate. Supporting the delivery of ASB's Financial Crime Compliance Strategy and broader risk management objectives. Influencing leaders and stakeholders through clear communication, robust analysis and practical recommendations. Ngā mea kia whai angitū ahau? | What do I need to be successful? We're interested in hearing from experienced assurance, audit, risk and compliance leaders who bring a broad understanding of financial crime and a passion for continuous improvement. You’ll ideally bring: Strong experience in business assurance, internal audit, operational risk or compliance, ideally within financial services or another highly regulated environment. Broad financial crime knowledge spanning multiple disciplines rather than a single specialist area. Demonstrated experience leading leaders and developing high-performing teams. A strong understanding of risk management frameworks, compliance obligations and regulatory requirements. The ability to interpret complex information, identify meaningful insights and influence decision-making. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to provide robust challenge while building trusted relationships. Experience leading change initiatives and driving operational improvement. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into practical outcomes.
