Job Description

As a Gas Turbine Overhaul Technician - CNC Machine Centre Support, you’ll play a key role in the growth of Rotation Group’s newest overhaul and repair facility in Penrose, Auckland. Working closely with our experienced Canadian overhaul team, you’ll help build a world-class capability supporting customers across New Zealand, Australia, Canada and beyond. Specialising in GE LM2500 gas turbines, you’ll be involved in the hands‑on overhaul and repair of engines and modules while supporting our Dorries Scharmann machining capability. This role combines gas turbine expertise with CNC machining, component repair and manufacturing activities in a highly specialised environment. What you’ll do Disassemble, inspect and reassemble GE LM2500 gas turbine engines and components Operate CNC machining equipment to repair and manufacture turbine components Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation Inspect finished work to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy Support troubleshooting, repair and overhaul activities Maintain accurate records and documentation Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Support occasional domestic and international travel requirements What we’re looking for Strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for hands‑on technical work Experience in mechanical assembly, overhaul, maintenance or repair environments High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to follow technical procedures, solve problems and work safely in a regulated environment Reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a small, committed team Positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to continuous improvement Experience & Qualifications You should meet most, but not necessarily all, of the following: Mechanical trade qualification or relevant technical training Experience operating CNC machinery within manufacturing, heavy engineering, aerospace, power generation, or precision machining environments Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation Experience CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using precision measuring equipment Exposure to gas turbines, rotating equipment, or component repair would be advantageous Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team Why join Rotation Group?
