Job Description

An exciting contract opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join a busy and highly collaborative team. Working across both environment and public transport portfolios, the immediate focus will be supporting a range of environment-related procurement activities. This role will see you leading multiple procurements simultaneously, ranging from smaller sourcing initiatives through to more complex procurement projects. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, providing expert procurement advice, developing procurement documentation and facilitating evaluation processes to ensure robust and defensible outcomes. The successful contractor will quickly establish credibility across the business, build strong working relationships and provide hands‑on support throughout the full procurement lifecycle. Role Requirements To be successful in this role, you will bring: Demonstrated experience managing the full procurement lifecycle from planning through to contract award Strong knowledge of Government Procurement Rules, with knowledge of NZTA procurement frameworks highly advantageous Proven ability to prepare high-quality procurement documentation, including procurement plans, approval papers, RFX documentation, evaluation reports and recommendations Experience leading and facilitating evaluation moderation sessions with a range of stakeholders Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build rapport and credibility quickly The capability to manage multiple concurrent procurement activities with competing priorities Experience leading procurement projects independently and driving outcomes An understanding of social procurement principles and how procurement can deliver broader community outcomes Awareness of engaging with mana whenua and incorporating these considerations into procurement approaches Experience designing procurement processes that create opportunities for diverse suppliers and improve accessibility to tender opportunities Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach What’s in it for You?
