Own insurance strategy for one of New Zealand's largest property portfolios Partner with senior leaders and key stakeholders across the business Use your expertise to help shape better outcomes for New Zealanders Te whiwhinga mahi - Our opportunity Reporting to the Treasurer, you'll lead Kāinga Ora's insurance programme, providing oversight of insurance strategy, renewals, claims management, and insurer relationships across a large and diverse asset base. You'll also provide senior capability and support across Treasury, helping to strengthen organisational resilience and contributing to governance reporting and strategic decision-making. This role offers significant visibility across the organisation, partnering with senior leaders, governance forums, insurers, brokers, and key external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Include Lead the annual insurance renewal and placement programme Manage relationships with insurers, brokers, and key internal stakeholders Provide oversight and strategic guidance on complex insurance claims Deliver insurance analysis, reporting, and recommendations on risk retention and coverage Prepare and review high-quality Board and governance reporting Support Treasury activities across funding, liquidity, and financial risk management Provide trusted advice and financial insight to senior leadership Deputise for the Treasurer when required Strengthen team capability, resilience, and continuity through knowledge sharing and process improvement Ngā Pūmanawatanga Ōu - What You Will Bring We're looking for a commercially astute professional who combines strong technical capability with excellent stakeholder management skills. You'll Ideally Have A relevant tertiary qualification in finance, economics, accounting, law, or a related discipline Significant experience in insurance, treasury, financial markets, or a related analytical environment Experience leading insurance programmes or complex workstreams Strong understanding of financial risk, insurance, funding, and liquidity concepts Experience preparing clear and influential advice for senior executives and governance forums Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills The ability to build credibility and productive relationships across a diverse stakeholder group Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment Nōu te rourou - What's in it for you?
