Applications close 12/09/2026 Reference REQ2067 Employment type Permanent Location 225 De Havilland Drive, New Plymouth 4312 NZL About the Role As a Glove & Barrier Line Mechanic, you will beresponsible for carrying out the construction, maintenance and servicing ofoverhead electricity lines and associated equipment, ensuring work is completedsafely, efficiently and to customer and network requirements. You will develop work plans for construction and servicingactivities, operate ground and structure-mounted electrical equipment onnetworks up to 33kV, and undertake the overhaul of non-load-bearing polehardware on electrical networks up to 110kV. You will also install and replaceelectricity network pole structures and overhead conductors. Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will lead and support your team to deliversafe, efficient and high-quality construction and maintenance of overheadelectrical networks. You will plan and coordinate work, complete WTCassessments, conduct audits and quality checks, and ensure plant, equipment andPPE are compliant and fit for purpose. You will scope and price jobs, allocatelabour, plant and materials, interpret technical drawings and provide guidanceto your team. You will ensure all required documentation is completed accuratelyand on time, identify opportunities for cost savings and continuousimprovement, and communicate job progress and performance clearly. You willalso build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders whilemaintaining a high standard of health, safety, quality and environmentalcompliance. Experience: - ERWB Registration as a Glove & Barrier Line Mechanic. - NZ Driving Licence. - HT Licence is desirable. - Relevant network-specific competencies. - Proven experience working on electrical lines and networks. - A strong commitment to health, safety, quality andenvironmental standards. - An excellent safety record. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - The ability to work effectively as part of a team andsupport others to succeed. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respondquickly and effectively to challenges. - A positive attitude and a commitment to deliveringhigh-quality work. - The physical capability to safely perform the requirementsofthe role.
