About Ministerial Services Ministerial Services supports members of the Executive by providing the services, resources and advice they need to carry out their responsibilities. This includes Ministerial office staffing, entitlements such as VIP transport and Ministerial residences, and support for official visits and events. About the role The Ministerial Entitlements and Assurance (MEA) team operates in a fast-paced and politically sensitive environment, balancing responsive customer service with strong stewardship of public resources. As a Business Advisor, you will provide finance, assurance and advisory support to Ministers and Ministerial staff. You'll help ensure expenditure is managed appropriately, policies and processes are understood and applied correctly, and high-quality services are delivered to our customers. This is a varied role that combines financial administration, customer support, problem solving and continuous improvement. What you'll be doing Manage Ministerial expenditure, including purchase orders, invoice processing and financial reconciliations. Support month-end activities, reporting, journals and accruals. Undertake quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with legislation and policy. Provide advice on Ministerial services, entitlements, policies and business processes. Build effective relationships with Ministerial offices, suppliers and internal stakeholders. Develop and maintain guidance and supporting documentation. Contribute to business improvement initiatives and support periods of peak demand. What you'll bring Experience in finance, accounting, audit or financial administration. Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Experience working with financial systems (Oracle experience desirable). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and sound judgement. The ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and guidelines. Well-developed relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. Experience working in a public sector environment is desirable. Why join us?
