Hiring – Finance Manager - Tauranga! Midland Scaffolding & Rigging is a specialist access and heavy industry company supporting major projects and critical infrastructure across New Zealand. Operating across energy, geothermal, pulp & paper, dairy, infrastructure and heavy industry, we provide scaffolding, rigging, shrink wrap and specialist access solutions for construction, shutdowns and ongoing maintenance. With operations across Taupō, Bay of Plenty, South Waikato, Waikato and Auckland, our teams work throughout New Zealand where safety, capability and reliability matter. Our experience includes Tauhara Power Station, TOPP3 Geothermal Station and Te Mihi Stage 2, alongside major shutdown and maintenance programmes. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded Finance Manager to take ownership of Midland’s finance function. Based in Tauranga, this is a full-time, on-site role within a fast-paced, multi-regional heavy industry business. As part of our Executive Leadership Team, you will work directly with the Directors and alongside our Site Managers and Supervisors. This is a hands-on accounting and leadership role. You will own the finance function, supported by an administration team, while remaining actively involved in accounting, reporting, compliance and commercial analysis. We want someone who can tell us not only what the numbers are, but what they mean and what we should do next. What You'll Own Lead the finance function and administration team. Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and reporting. Oversee AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations and general ledger. Manage tax, statutory reporting, audit and compliance. Deliver management reporting to Directors and leadership. Analyse labour costs, margins, utilisation and profitability. Support pricing, tenders, investment and resource decisions. Strengthen financial controls, systems and processes. Work with operational leaders to improve performance. Contribute to strategy, governance, risk and major decisions. What We're Looking For Strong management and financial accounting experience. Hands-on capability across general ledger, tax, AP, AR and payroll. Strong budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and reporting skills. Ability to turn financial data into commercial recommendations. Strong ERP/accounting systems, Excel and analysis capability. Commercial judgement and understanding of operational drivers. Confidence working with Directors and operational leaders. Relevant Accounting or Finance qualification; CA/CPA advantageous. Construction, contracting, engineering or heavy industry experience highly regarded. Strong organisation, integrity, accountability and discretion.
