The College of Science is seeking a College Academic Quality Advisor to join our team at Massey University's Manawatu campus in Palmerston North. This position is a full-time, permanent opportunity. Mo tenei turanga mahi | About the role This role plays a key part in supporting academic quality assurance and governance within the College, helping to ensure qualifications and courses meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will coordinate and administer academic review activities, including Course Health Checks, Periodic Course Reviews, and Qualification Health Checks, providing data analysis, reporting, and advice to support evidence-based decision making and continuous improvement. Working closely with academic staff, Programme Committees, and University stakeholders, you will quality assure curriculum documentation, support academic approval processes, and ensure information within curriculum management systems is accurate and aligned with University requirements. You will also provide secretariat support to Programme Committees, prepare papers and reports for governance committees, and maintain systems and reporting tools that track qualification performance, review outcomes, and improvement actions. Mou | About you We're looking for someone who combines strong analytical and organisational skills with an understanding of academic quality assurance and higher education systems. You'll be confident working with complex data, systems, and documentation, while building effective relationships with academic and professional staff to support quality outcomes across the College. Key requirements include: A relevant tertiary qualification and sound knowledge of the tertiary education environment. Experience working with academic data, reporting tools, or business intelligence systems, including the ability to analyse and interpret qualitative and quantitative data. Demonstrated ability to review and quality assure complex documentation, ideally within an educational, regulatory, or policy environment. Strong technology skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel, Forms, SharePoint, and Word, and the ability to quickly learn new systems. Experience working with curriculum management systems, student management systems, or similar platforms would be advantageous. An understanding of curriculum structures, academic governance, and quality assurance processes, or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge. Proven ability to work collaboratively with academic staff, committees, and other stakeholders to support review, approval, and continuous improvement processes.
