Job Description
Introduction: We are searching for a compassionate, reliable and dedicated Support Worker to join our team supporting people living with disabilities. Hauora Ability Services Halswell is a residential facility offering hospital level care for people with physical and/or neurological disabilities. For some of our residents we are a home for life, others are more transitional and stay with us for Rehabilitation and Therapy provided by our Multidisciplinary team of therapists. This position involves providing high-quality, person-cenered support to people with disabilities, promoting their independence, dignity, safety and wellbeing. We are seeking someone who is comfortable working permanent part-time night shifts and who is also interested in the opportunity to pick up additional shifts when available. About The Role In this role you will: Support residents to lead engaging and fulfilling lives Follow care plans that enable residents in their health and wellbeing Monitor and respond appropriately to residents' needs during night shifts Complete accurate documentation and handovers Work collaboratively with the Activities and Rehabilitation Team to support residents to achieve lifestyle goals and community connections Continue to achieve NZQA Health and Wellbeing Certificate levels with support of your manager and Workforce Development team. About You You will ideally have: Experience working in disability support, healthcare or a similar role. Existing Work Visa with 2 New Zealand work referees if you are not a NZ Citizen or permanent resident Good communication and teamwork skills Flexibility and willingness to pick up additional shifts. New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing at any level A commitment to maintaining the dignity, privacy and independence of the people you support.
