Regional Finance - Investment Optimisation Lead Permanent, full-time position based anywhere in New Zealand. About the Role As the Regional Finance – Investment Optimisation Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring investment decisions across the region are strategically aligned, evidence-based, and deliver the greatest value for our communities. Working closely with the General Manager Regional Finance, District and Regional Finance teams, operational leaders, and specialist functions, you'll lead the development of investment frameworks and processes that support robust, transparent, and value-for-money decision-making. This is a highly influential role where you'll coordinate and prioritise investment proposals across districts and functions, develop financial and operational modelling frameworks, and provide expert analysis to support major investment decisions. You'll establish consistent tools and governance processes, lead the regional investment programme, and provide key support to the Regional Investment Committee, ensuring proposals are aligned with regional priorities and organisational strategy. You'll also build strong partnerships across the organisation, champion continuous improvement, and create a centre of excellence for investment planning and optimisation. About you As an experienced finance professional, you'll combine strategic thinking with strong analytical capability and the ability to influence decisions across a complex organisation. A relevant tertiary qualification and a professional finance or accounting qualification (such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). At least five years' experience in financial analysis and developing evidence-based recommendations within a large, complex organisation. Proven experience developing financial frameworks, modelling tools, and investment methodologies that support strategic decision-making. Strong experience preparing high-quality business cases and Board or executive-level papers, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and persuasively. Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build trusted partnerships across multiple functions and leadership teams.
