Are you an experienced nurse with amazing multitasking ability? Are you keen for more hands-on nursing and excel in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking applications from qualified veterinary nurses to work in our Community Practice department, within our Companion Animal Hospital team. Our Community Practice team is experiencing exciting growth, and we're looking to welcome two additional permanent full-time nurses (37.5 hours per week) to the department, with further opportunities for growth on the horizon! Mo tenei turanga mahi | About the role Massey's Veterinary Teaching Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility offering New Zealand's most comprehensive veterinary expertise. Our community practice team have a fast-paced environment and enjoy a varied role working alongside the other departments within the hospital, allowing scope to further educate in other areas. Nurses rotate through a shared roster, meaning you will get to experience a bit of everything (from helping in consults, to assisting with procedures such as radiographs, desexings, dentals and other surgeries!), as well as scope to start your own nurse led consultations. Community Practice operate business hours, Monday to Friday with the potential of work part days on a Saturday. As part of this role, you will be required to participate on an afterhours on-call roster including public holidays and weekends, but only approximately 1 in every 12 weeks. What a great work-life balance! Mou | About you The successful applicant will have experience in general practice nursing and be able to multitask and prioritise, as no two days are the same. You will have: a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing, Bachelor of Veterinary Technology, or equivalent. a minimum of one years' experience in general practice (new graduates will considered) experience with general anaesthesia and surgical nursing a natural empathy toward the cultural, emotional and physical state of our clients and patients alike a positive attitude and a passion for patient care and lifelong learning a genuine interest in undergraduate education and supporting students eligibility to work in NZ Ko nga hua o te turanga? | What's in it for you?
