Our team of highly skilled glass installation specialists in Cromwell are looking for experienced, a highly motivated Glazier to join them. Reporting to the Glazing Manager, the primary focus of the role is to undertake all types of glazing work for the installation of glass structures and fixtures, in commercial premise, domestic homes and new construction projects ensuring that all work is done safely, is of high quality, is completed on time and in accordance with New Zealand Standards. No two days are ever the same, you will get out and about with the team across the beautiful Central Otago region installing glass products into some spectacular homes and buildings. This is a great opportunity to take your career to the next level! Duties and Responsibilities Read drawings and specifications. Measure and order glass and materials for glazing contracts. Ensure product, process and quality specifications are adhered to. Install and remove glass panels from structures and fixtures. Ensure that all glazing work meets the demands of the customer, maintaining schedules for completion within the fixed timeframe. Clean and store tools and equipment. Drive a motor vehicle used for the transport of glass and glazing products. Deglaze, re-glaze and retrofit glaze as required. Cut glass and install glass products into buildings & fixtures. Identify and resolve any glazing issues on site. Deal with routine questions and complaints from customers, in relation to glazing work. Pass on any questions, comments or complaints received from customers to the appropriate staff member at Metro. Recommend improvements in glazing methods and/or materials used. Check quality and accuracy of glazing work. Maintain detailed information regarding glazing work including reports to be completed accurately and within required time frames. Comply with all company Health & Safety requirements, including reporting hazards and incidents. The ideal candidate will have the following requirements and qualifications NZ / AU / UK Trade Certified - Glazier or equivalent proven training and experience (3 years). Alternatively 3 years relevant hands on experience performing structural glazing, frameless installations and/or retrofitting. Proven track record working on commercial and residential glazing projects. Experience in glazing, residential construction and / or aluminium framing or timber joinery fabrication. Ability to read and interpret technical information including architectural plans and product specifications. Good level of physical fitness. A practical approach to solving problems with the ability think on your feet and prioritize your work, without dropping the ball. Unrelenting commitment to safe working practices, care for yourself and your team mates, customers and members of the public. Great communication skills with the ability to talk to people from all walks of life. Superb attention to detail and high quality standards to deliver all our customers top notch products and service. Full clean driving licence appropriate for trade vehicle. Current site safety certification - or ability to attain without delay. Experience with training and supervising apprentices and unskilled labour on site would be advantageous. Ability to work occasional weekends. Proposed wage - $30.00 - $34.00 per hour This position is a permanent, full-time role with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 7.00am - 3.30pm. Weekend work may be required from time to time based on customer installation requirements. What's in it for you?
