Associate Analyst - Flexible Workforce (Financial Crime Operations)
Job Description
At ASB, our purpose is to help our customers get One Step Ahead. Our Financial Crime Operations teams play a critical role in protecting ASB, our customers and our communities by preventing and managing the impact of financial crime.
\nWe’re looking for an Associate Analyst to join our Financial Crime Operations Flexible Workforce. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, adapts quickly and wants to build broad experience across different areas of Financial Crime Operations.
\nAs part of the Flexible Workforce, you’ll move between Financial Crime teams based on changing work volumes and business requirements. No six months are the same. You’ll learn a variety of processes and systems, work alongside different teams and gain valuable exposure across the wider Financial Crime Operations environment.
\nIn this role, you’ll support different Financial Crime Operations teams to deliver timely, accurate and compliant customer outcomes. You’ll assess and investigate alerts, exceptions and cases, gather and analyse information, maintain detailed records and elevate financial crime risks where appropriate.
\nKey responsibilities include:
\n- \n
- Assessing, investigating and supporting the appropriate remediation of alerts, exceptions and cases within agreed service-level timeframes \n
- Analysing and interrogating information from ASB and CBA systems, customers, law enforcement agencies and other sources \n
- Collecting relevant information from frontline teams and customers \n
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of your assessments and decisions \n
- Developing a strong understanding of financial crime risk and escalating concerns where appropriate \n
- Supporting ASB’s compliance with AML/CFT, sanctions, FATCA and CRS requirements \n
- Moving between Financial Crime Operations teams based on work volumes, priorities and business requirements \n
- Learning new processes and systems to provide effective support across multiple areas \n
- Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of our processes \n
This is a varied role where adaptability, curiosity and a willingness to learn are essential. You could be supporting one area of Financial Crime Operations before moving into another team to build new knowledge and capability. It’s a great opportunity to understand how the different parts of Financial Crime Operations work together while developing a broad and transferable skillset.
\nYou’ll be a quick and eager learner who enjoys working in an environment where priorities and areas of focus can change. You’ll be comfortable joining new teams, learning unfamiliar processes and systems, and contributing wherever support is needed.
\nIdeally, you’ll bring:
\n- \n
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work \n
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review information and make sound decisions \n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills \n
- Strong time-management and prioritisation skills \n
- A proactive, positive and adaptable approach \n
- A genuine willingness to learn and actively participate \n
- The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of your development \n
- A strong customer focus and commitment to delivering great outcomes \n
- Confidence learning and navigating a variety of processes and systems \n
You don’t necessarily need previous Financial Crime experience. What matters most is your curiosity, attention to detail and ability to learn quickly. Experience in banking operations, customer service, risk, compliance, investigations or another detail-focused environment would be advantageous.
