Every day is different. You will help create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for customers while supporting our centres during one of the busiest times of the year. Your main responsibilities will include: Actively supervising the pool and surrounding areas to help visitors stay safe and have fun. Interacting with customers, answering questions, and creating an inclusive and welcoming experience for everyone. Promoting water safety and helping people understand pool rules in a friendly and positive way. Responding calmly and confidently to first aid emergencies, incidents, and other situations when needed. Helping keep the centre facilities clean, tidy, and ready for customers to enjoy. We have severalfixed-term, full-time seasonal opportunities available across Ōtara and Papatoetoe Centennial Pool and Leisure Centres. Our centres operate from 5:30am to 9pm, so flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays is essential. Rosters vary based on operational needs; you must be available for at least one weekend day. You may also occasionally be asked to cover sickness-related shifts, including 5:00am starts or 9:00pm finishes (according to centre hours), so if you're reliable and ready to support the team where needed, we'd love to hear from you. We are looking for people who: Are strong, confident swimmers with excellent communication and customer service skills. Are friendly, approachable team players who demonstrate initiative, professionalism, accountability, and good judgement.
