In early September 2026, MARLE will open The Salon, its first retail space, in Newmarket - a new and important expression of the brand, offering a personal, calm and refined customer experience. We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead this flagship opening. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who wants to be visible on the floor, build genuine client relationships and set the tone for a high-performing store culture from day one. THE ROLE Reporting to the General Manager, the Store Manager will own the commercial performance, customer experience, team and daily operation of The Salon. You will lead from the front — personally driving sales and styling clients — while building a team that reflects MARLE's values and standard of service. RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE: Sales and Commercial Performance Own the store sales plan, leading the team to achieve targets and improve conversion, average transaction value and units per transaction Lead from the floor through genuine personal selling and client engagement Manage rosters and wage costs against budget, with concise weekly reporting on results and stock needs Customer Experience and Clienteling Deliver a warm, intuitive and highly personal MARLE service experience Build a valuable client book through thoughtful follow‑up, appointments and new‑arrival communication Resolve customer concerns professionally, protecting long‑term trust in the brand Recruit, induct and train the founding Newmarket retail team Coach the team through regular feedback, building an accountable, brand‑aligned culture Manage performance and conduct matters in line with MARLE's processes and New Zealand employment requirements Product, Merchandising and Store Operations Develop genuine expertise across each collection — fabrication, fit, care and styling — and maintain visual merchandising to MARLE's standard Oversee stock receiving, transfers, inventory accuracy and replenishment needs Ensure considered, reliable store operations, from opening and closing procedures to supporting launches and seasonal events Maintain close communication with the MARLE head‑office team AS THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE, YOU WILL HAVE: Proven leadership experience as a Store Manager, ideally within premium or considered womenswear A strong personal sales record and genuine confidence styling clients Demonstrated ability to coach a team and deliver commercial results A sound understanding of retail KPIs, wage management, rostering and stock control Confidence across POS, inventory and reporting systems; Shopify and CIN7 experience is an advantage A warm, polished and naturally engaging approach, with genuine appreciation for the MARLE product and customer This is a rare opportunity to help shape MARLE's first retail experience from the ground up, working closely with a considered and design‑led New Zealand brand. #J-18808-Ljbffr
