Company Description Pacific Health Service Hutt Valley is an independent health service that works closely with a Pasefika community of approximately 17,000 people in the Hutt Valley, north of Wellington. Since 1999, the organization has provided community engagement, development, support, health services, and social services with a focus on building a vibrant, healthy Pasefika community. Role Description This full-time, on-site General Practitioner role is based in Wellington and supports families and community in the Hutt Valley. The General Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions for individuals and families. Daily activities include conducting consultations, ordering and interpreting investigations, prescribing medications, and coordinating care with nursing and allied health staff. The role involves promoting preventive health, delivering culturally responsive care, and participating in health education and outreach initiatives aligned with family-centred approaches. The General Practitioner will also contribute to service development, quality improvement, and collaborative multidisciplinary teamwork within the organization. Qualifications Strong clinical skills in Medicine and Primary Care, with experience in community-based general practice. Background in Family Medicine and Nursing collaboration, with an ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams. Experience in Training and mentoring health professionals or students, particularly in culturally responsive care. Relevant medical degree and current registration (or eligibility for registration) with the appropriate medical council in New Zealand. Demonstrated understanding of and respect for Pasefika cultures, including family-centred and faith-led approaches to health. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and long-term relationships with community members.
