Job Description

Help shape the future of Aotearoa's electrical industry. Skills Group is seeking a dedicated Electrical Tutor based at our Tauranga Trades Training campus to support student learning and achievement through effective transfer of knowledge, course facilitation and student assessment. What You'll Be Doing Deliver engaging, industry-relevant electrical training across apprentice block and industry courses. Assess learner progress, complete marking within required timeframes, and deliver teaching in line with approved learning resources. Support learners through coaching, encouragement, and academic guidance to help them succeed in their studies and future careers. Contribute to the continuous improvement of programme delivery, teaching practice, and learning materials. Maintain a safe, organised, and well-equipped training centre that supports effective learning. Model and promote excellent health and safety practice, including timely reporting of incidents, hazards, and near misses. What You'll Bring NZ Electrical Registration is essential. Strong practical experience within the electrical industry. Experience in tertiary teaching or training is desirable, and development will be provided. Hold Unit Standard 4098, or be willing to obtain it with Skills Group's support as part of your professional development. Strength in student engagement, coaching and communication. Good organisational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently while contributing to a regional team.
