Job Description
Is This Role For You? We're looking for a genuine people-person who's just as comfortable on the tools as they are closing a sale — someone who thrives on variety and doesn't want to be stuck behind a desk or stuck on the tools full-time. This is not a pure trades role, and it's not a pure sales role either. It's a genuine mix: 50% hands-on property maintenance and handyman work, 40% quoting and sales, and 10% coordinating tradespeople. At Tradeplus, we've spent the last three years renovating, repairing and maintaining Auckland homes — everything from bathroom upgrades and painting to water damage and landlord compliance — with a small crew who take real pride in the finish. In this role: No two days look the same You'll go from a quote on the phone to a job on the tools to briefing a subcontractor, all in the same day Clients expect clear communication and a calm, friendly presence — especially when a job hits a snag You'll be trusted to watch costs and quality as closely as the Director does You'll work closely with admin support, the Company Director, and an established network of subcontractors You’ll thrive if you: Genuinely enjoy people — clients, tradies, everyone in between Can keep a client calm and confident even when a job goes sideways Like the variety of switching between tools, quoting, and coordinating trades Have worked in the trades and are ready to trade some tool time for sales and project management Take pride in a good finish and don't believe in cutting corners to hit a number If you want a predictable, single-lane role, this isn't for you. If you want genuine variety and real ownership over how jobs run — keep reading. More Details of the Job Who are you applying to work for? Tradeplus is a growing Auckland trades and property maintenance business. We pay our people and subcontractors on time, we communicate properly with our clients, and we don't cut corners to hit a number. What are the working hours? This is a full-time role based in Auckland, generally aligned to standard trade/business hours, with the flexibility to accommodate site start times and occasional client needs outside standard hours. Who will I report to? You’ll report to the Company Director, working alongside admin support day to day and coordinating Tradeplus's established network of subcontractors.
