Executive Assistant to the General Manager Community & Recreation Rangiora Rangiora | Full-time | Permanent At Waimakariri District Council, we're committed to making our district a great place to live, work and play. We're looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to support our General Manager Community & Recreation. This is a busy, varied and highly connected role supporting an energetic General Manager and a group responsible for many of the services our communities use every day, including libraries, aquatic facilities, parks, reserves, recreation programmes, community facilities and the Rangiora Airfield. This isn't a role where you'll be sitting on the sidelines. You'll be at the heart of the business units, managing priorities, coordinating information, building strong relationships and helping ensure things run smoothly across a diverse and active business group. About the role Managing a complex and ever-changing diary, inbox and workflow Coordinating meetings, agendas, papers and action follow-ups Preparing reports, correspondence and presentations Building strong working relationships across the organisation and wider community Anticipating needs, solving problems and keeping things moving Supporting projects, events and initiatives across the group This role is based in Rangiora and requires a regular on-site presence to effectively support the General Manager and wider leadership team About you Proven experience supporting senior leaders in a complex organisation The ability to work at pace and confidently manage competing priorities Strong judgement, initiative and attention to detail Excellent relationship-building and communication skills Advanced Microsoft 365 skills Experience in local government or the public sector would be advantageous, but is not essential Why join us?
