About the role\n

We have anexciting opportunity for a Senior nurse with a strong clinical background tojoin our team in ward CG, Burwood Adult Rehabilitation Unit (BARU) OlderPersons Health & Rehabilitation. Weare looking for a senior nurse with a passion for rehabilitation with a focuson neurological conditions, strong interpersonal skills and an ability to workalongside the nursing and interdisciplinary team members. We want this nurse to be an innovativethinker with an ability to problem solve and respond in a varied and complexpatient environment with a focus on best practice.Ward CG atBurwood Hospital is a Neurological Adult Rehabilitation Service with aninterdisciplinary team approach working alongside patients who have suffered aneurological event such as stroke or brain aneurysm. Our patient population age group is primarilybetween 18 - 65 years. Based at BurwoodHospital, you will work as part of our Older Person's Health &Rehabilitation Specialist Service providing vital care and rehabilitation tosome of our communities most vulnerable people.You will require a strong rehabilitation focus, a desire to learn and anunderstanding of the social and cultural needs of our patients and theirfamilies / whanau.This is awonderful opportunity for an experienced Senior Registered Nurse to gain anddevelop leadership knowledge and experience.Effective communication and development of a close working relationshipwith our nursing interdisciplinary team members. With your extensive clinical experience, youwill demonstrate the ability to support and educate both team members, patientsand whanau.Working seamlessly within aninterdisciplinary team including Charge Nurse Manager, Registered and Enrollednurses, Hospital Aides and Allied Health Professionals.

About You\n

Asa senior nurse you will require recent neurological nursing experienceExpertcommunication, interpersonal skills and proven ability to engage people at alllevels will see you work effectively and efficiently with a diverse group ofteams Byutilising advanced knowledge and clinical skills in collaboration with nursingand medical staff, the interdisciplinary team and other external agencies youwill contribute to the development and maintenance of high quality evidencedbased care for staff, patients and whanau.Youwill also contribute to nursing standards and quality initiativesSoundinterpersonal skills and management of complex situations enable you to workalongside a variety of clinicians to ensure care is delivered as required.

Skills and Experience\n

Experiencein relevant management and / or leadership roles with the ability to influencedecision making and changeInterpersonalskills and building relationshipsStrategicthinking and promoting interdisciplinary collaborationCompetentuser of Microsoft office suite and other relevant softwareNZRegistered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing CertificateHoldor be working towards a relevant Post Graduate CertificateHoldor working towards Expert PDRPGoodKnowledge and support for the integration of Te Tiriti o Waitangi within aninpatient settingWorkingat Health New Zealand
