About the Role We have anexciting opportunity for a dynamic nursing leaderto join our rural hospital and lead the emergency department, inpatient ward, and district nursing teams, approximately thirty nursing staff. We are looking for acollaborative senior nursewith strong interpersonal skills, innovative thinking, the ability to problem solve and respond in this fast-paced environment. About the Service Taumarunui Hospitalis one of Waikatossouthern rural hospitalslocated approximately 160kms / 2 hours drive south of Hamilton. It provides a 24/7 emergency department service with approximately 10,000 presentations per year. This operates alongside a ten inpatient ward; allied health and other services collocated on-site such as plain film radiology and laboratory services. TheDistrict Nursing servicesupports patients in a large geographical area and provides a clinic service on-site. Specialist outpatient clinics are provided by visiting specialists from tertiary provider Waikato Hospital. There is a two bed primary birthing unit on site staffed by contracted midwives. This role offers an ideal balance for those seeking variety in their work, with a strong emphasis on quality improvement. You will be part of a skilled, collaborative team working closely with senior medical officers, primary care, and a primary birthing unit. About You As aSenior Nurseyou willpreferably have recent emergency department experience and proven leadership skillssupporting daily operational activity and patient flow Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, along with your proven ability to engage at all levels, will enable you to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams and to lead the delivery of advanced clinical care and nursing expertise to patients and their families/whānau. By using your advanced knowledge and clinical skills in collaboration with nursing and medical staff, the multidisciplinary team, and other external agencies, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of high quality evidenced based patient care whilst also contributing to and developing, appropriate nursing standards and quality initiatives. You are able to problem solve and manage complex situations as they arise, redistributing nursing resources to ensure the optimal patient experience while supporting clinical delivery. Your sound interpersonal skills and impeccable management of complex situations enable you to work alongside a variety of clinicians to ensure care is delivered as required. You have a comprehensive understanding of competency in nursing and can work alongside individuals to support professional development. Essential skills: NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate and a relevant Post Graduate qualification. Minimum of 5 years recent clinical experience and able to demonstrate professional nursing leadership As Clinical Nurse Manager, you will have highly developed clinical and leadership skills while continuing to find opportunities to grow yourself, your service and those around you. Experience leading and developing teams. Strong understanding of HR processes, safe staffing, and continuous quality improvement. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and cross sector environment.
