Job Description Are you a hands‑on engineer who enjoys troubleshooting, customer interaction, and travel? We are seeking a motivated Field Service Engineer to join our team based in Auckland . This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled and customer‑focused professional who enjoys hands‑on troubleshooting, field service work, and travelling to support customers across New Zealand and the Pacific region. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and support of specialised electrical and electronic equipment at customer sites. This role offers exposure to a wide range of projects and industries, including airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships, and other critical infrastructure environments. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing specialised equipment at customer sites. You will work closely with customers to ensure optimal equipment performance while delivering exceptional service and technical support. This is an excellent opportunity for a self‑motivated engineer who enjoys working independently, solving complex technical issues, and building strong customer relationships. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic equipment at customer sites. Diagnose faults using electrical and mechanical schematics and identify root‑cause issues. Deliver customer training and technical support as required. Respond to service requests and corrective maintenance activities in line with service agreements and KPIs. Prepare service reports and maintain accurate records within service management systems. Manage spare parts, repair cycles, and inventory requirements. Conduct equipment performance assessments and recommend improvements. Support service sales opportunities and contribute to revenue‑generating initiatives. Ensure tools and test equipment remain calibrated and maintained. Comply with all health, safety, and environmental requirements. Participate in an on‑call roster when required. Qualifications Degree or qualification in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent technical experience. Minimum 3 years' experience in field service, troubleshooting, repair, or maintenance of electrical and electronic systems. Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Self‑motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel on short notice. Preferred EWRB EST licence or higher. Experience working in security, transportation, airport, correctional facility, or similar technical environments.
