Senior Local Government Advisor

Fluid Recruitment is proud to exclusively partner with Environment Southland in searching for a Senior Advisor Local Government to join its Strategy & Regulation Team. This is an opportunity to join Environment Southland in a key advisory role supporting the organisation across its statutory local government responsibilities. The Role You will be working closely with the Team Leader Strategy & Organisational Planning, you'll provide specialist advice across the Long-term Plan, Annual Plan, Annual Report and Section 17A service delivery reviews, while helping ensure the organisation remains compliant with the Local Government Act 2002 and related legislation. You'll have the opportunity to influence how statutory planning and reporting is delivered, work closely with senior stakeholders and contribute to projects that have a meaningful impact on the Southland community. This is a role that offers genuine variety, combining statutory planning, policy, analysis, project work and stakeholder engagement. About You We're looking for an experienced local government professional who brings strong analytical capability, sound judgement and a thorough understanding of the legislative environment councils operate within. You'll be someone who is comfortable working independently, can navigate complex issues with confidence and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work. Why Southland?
