Equipment & Warehouse Maintenance Assistant Geotechnics | Onehunga, Auckland | Casual (7-10 hours per week) Are you someone who enjoys fixing things, keeping equipment running smoothly and taking pride in a well-organised workspace? We're looking for a practical, reliable person to join our Auckland Business Services team and help keep our warehouse and laboratory operations running efficiently. This casual role offers around 7-10 hours per week and would suit someone looking for flexible work who enjoys variety and working with their hands. Ka aha koe / What you'll be doing In this hands-on role, you'll be the go-to person for keeping our warehouse and equipment in top shape. Your responsibilities will include: Carrying out basic machine repairs and routine equipment maintenance Completing scheduled preventative maintenance and reporting any issues requiring professional servicing Keeping warehouse and storage areas clean, tidy and well organised Cleaning laboratory and warehouse silt traps before they reach capacity Assisting with minor office maintenance tasks as required Training technicians in routine servicing, cleaning and maintenance tasks Ensuring tools, equipment and products are stored safely and correctly Identifying and reporting blocked clearways or areas requiring attention Supporting a safe, efficient and well-maintained workplace You'll be someone who enjoys practical work, takes initiative and has pride in maintaining a safe and organised environment. Ideally you'll have: Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in basic machine repairs and general maintenance Experience working in an industrial, warehouse, workshop or commercial environment A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to troubleshoot problems A strong commitment to health and safety Good communication skills and the confidence to encourage others to maintain high housekeeping standards The ability to carry out hands-on, sometimes physically demanding work A current New Zealand driver's licence A reliable, self-motivated and team-focused attitude Geotechnics Ltd is a specialist materials testing company, providing laboratory and field testing services to the geotechnical, civil and environmental engineering industries.
