Are you hands-on, customer-focused, and experienced working with timber products? AWF is seeking a reliable and motivated Yard Person to join a busy timber and building supplies business in Hastings. About the Role This is a varied role that combines yard duties, customer service, order preparation, and sales support. You'll play an important role in ensuring customers receive excellent service while helping maintain an efficient and organised yard. Key Responsibilities Assisting customers with timber and building supply enquiries Serving trade and retail customers in a friendly and professional manner Preparing and picking customer orders accurately Loading and unloading timber products and materials Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised yard environmentProviding product advice and sales support Stock handling and general yard duties as required What We're Looking For Previous experience working with timber or building supplies Good knowledge of timber products and their applications Strong customer service and communication skills Sales experience or confidence in recommending products Ability to work in a physically demanding environment Reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented attitude Forklift licence is advantageous but not essential Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand Pre-Employment Requirements Pass a pre-employment drug screen Consent to and pass a Ministry of Justice criminal history check What's on Offer Competitive hourly rate Full-time hours with a well-established business Supportive team environment Opportunity to further develop your product knowledge and sales skills Immediate start available for the right candidate If you're passionate about customer service, enjoy working with timber products, and want to be part of a great team, we'd love to hear from you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
