Specialist Classroom Teacher (SCT)

Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts We are seeking an excellent and experienced classroom practitioner and leader in professional development to join Napier Boys’ High School as our Specialist Classroom Teacher (SCT). The successful applicant will be an outstanding teacher who is passionate about improving teaching and learning and supporting colleagues to develop their practice. The role requires: Excellent organisation, communication and planning skills. A confident and highly effective classroom practitioner. Proven experience mentoring and supporting teachers to improve their classroom practice. A strong background in designing and delivering professional development in teaching and learning. The ability to work effectively with individuals, small groups and whole staff. A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive professional relationships across the school. In line with the PPTA Collective Agreement, the SCT will be provided with release time from classroom teaching to undertake the responsibilities of the role.
