We partner with utilities, energy developers, major contractors, and commercial, industrial and infrastructure clients to deliver critical energy and renewable projects across the full project lifecycle, from early planning and design through to procurement and construction support. Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity This Section Manager opportunity will lead Beca Power’s Southern team from Christchurch, with a current team size of around 35 people. The role offers the chance to strengthen local leadership, support a growing and technically capable team, and contribute to the wider direction and performance of Beca’s Asia Pacific Power business. You will work closely with leaders across Power and the wider Beca business, including people leaders, technical specialists, market and client leaders, and project delivery teams. Your focus will be to lead the Christchurch section with clarity and care, while enabling effective resourcing, collaboration and capability growth across teams in New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia and Thailand. Ngā Kawenga Matua | Key Responsibilities Lead the Southern Power section with a focus on people, performance, collaboration and sustainable growth, including: Leading recruitment and workforce planning across career levels and technical disciplines. Welcoming and onboarding new talent so people understand the team, the work, and how we collaborate across locations. Supporting retention, wellbeing and balanced workloads through purposeful leadership and effective resourcing. Connecting people and work across Beca's Power teams so clients can access the right expertise at the right time and opportunities are shared across locations. Supporting global capability performance through effective resource coordination, pipeline planning, workforce forecasting and collaboration with peers to optimise utilisation, workshare and growth outcomes across the Power Capability. Lead a high-performing, delivery-focused team that is recognised for technical excellence, client service, innovation, commercial discipline and consistently delivering successful project outcomes within agreed cost plans. Ko wai koe | About you To be successful in this role, you will bring proven leadership experience and a demonstrated ability to build, develop and support effective teams through growth and change. This experience may come from a current manager or team leader role, or from a delivery, technical or client-focused role where you have built strong business, people and leadership capability. You will be known as a leader who sets a strong standard for culture, professionalism and care. You will be able to create a positive working environment, guide and develop others through meaningful one-to-one conversations, balance competing commitments, and make sound commercial judgements. You will also bring, and continue to develop, a broad understanding of people leadership and employment-related responsibilities.
