Job Description Lumino Hutt City is looking for a Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our friendly and dedicated team! Located in the heart of Lower Hutt, our practice is committed to providing high-quality dental care in a welcoming and patient-focused environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and loves helping people. As a Dental Assistant , you'll play a vital role in supporting our clinicians and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice. You'll assist with a range of dental procedures, maintain high infection control standards, manage instrument sterilisation, and help keep clinical areas well-stocked and organised. Working alongside an experienced clinical team, you'll have the opportunity to develop valuable skills and gain hands-on experience in the dental industry. As a Receptionist , you'll be the first point of contact for our patients, creating positive experiences from the moment they walk through the door. Your responsibilities will include: Greeting patients and managing enquiries Scheduling and confirming appointments Processing payments and daily banking Managing patient records and administrative tasks Supporting the wider team to ensure a seamless patient journey No two days are the same, making this an exciting and rewarding role where you can truly make a difference. Hours Monday: 8:30am - 6:00pm Tuesday: 8:30am - 6:00pm Wednesday: 8:30am - 6:00pm Thursday: 8:30am - 6:00pm Friday: 8:30am - 3:00pm Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll bring: Previous Dental Assistant experience is highly regarded, however full training can be provided for the right person. Experience in a customer-facing, healthcare, reception, or sterilisation environment. A warm, positive, and professional approach with a genuine passion for helping people. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients from all walks of life. Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Confidence using computers and the ability to quickly learn new systems. A reliable work ethic and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team. A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
