This is a hands-on role for an experienced Estimator / Project Manager who enjoys balancing commercial acumen with practical project delivery and wants to be part of a supportive team that values quality, safety, and professional growth. What You'll Be Doing Prepare estimates, quotes, and tender submissions for structural steel, pipe fabrication, and engineering projects. Review specifications, drawings, labour requirements, and material costs to develop accurate pricing. Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors. Manage projects from award through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification. Coordinate materials, subcontractors, workshop activities, and installation schedules. Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular project updates. Conduct site visits, monitor progress, and ensure quality and Health & Safety requirements are met. Track project costs, labour hours, and project performance. What You Need Minimum 5 years' experience estimating within the engineering, fabrication, structural steel, or piping sector. Proven ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines with a high level of accuracy. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors. Ability to identify risks and opportunities within tender documentation. Strong commercial, QA and manufacturing skills with experience of work installation and knowledge of commissioning. Proven experience managing site-based engineering projects from start to finish. Sound knowledge of relevant NZ industry standards including NZ health and safety practices.
