The Opportunity This is an opportunity to step into a key leadership role with Environment Southland, leading a team responsible for the delivery of resource consenting services across the region. You’ll provide leadership, technical guidance and support to a team of Senior Consents Officers and Consents Officers, while also taking responsibility for complex decision‑making, quality assurance and continuous improvement. This is a role where you can combine your resource consenting expertise with genuine people leadership, helping shape how the team operates and delivers for the community. The Role As Team Leader Consents, you'll be responsible for leading, mentoring and developing a team of consenting professionals. Making decisions on resource consent applications as well as providing expert advice on the RMA, Council plans and consent processes will be an everyday task. This is a role that offers the opportunity to step away from purely technical delivery and make a broader impact through leadership, mentoring and improving the way consenting services are delivered. About You We’re looking for an experienced resource consenting professional who can bring strong technical knowledge, sound judgement and a genuine desire to lead and develop others. Alongside this you will be someone who can balance the needs of your team with the demands of a busy regulatory environment, make confident decisions and build effective relationships across Council and the wider community.
