Heavy Automotive Fitter

Company : Sime Darby Transport (NZ) Ltd Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Heavy Automotive Fitter to join our Auckland workshop in Wiri. You'll work on a diverse range of equipment, including concrete mixers, tail lifts, hook loaders and specialist hydraulic equipment, with no two days quite the same. About the role You will be assembling, fitting, servicing, and maintaining prefabricated components in our own workshop. As a Heavy Automotive Fitter, you'll be responsible for: Carrying out preventative maintenance and safety inspections Completing repairs and maintenance to a high standard of quality and workmanship Welding and modifying axles Welding and fabricating handrails and other components Working collaboratively with a skilled and supportive workshop team Following all health and safety policies and procedures and ensuring everyone goes home safely Please note this role is 70% fitting and 30% welding. About You Have solid fitting experience, preferably in the heavy automotive equipment industry Possess a minimum Trade or National Certificate in Welding, Engineering or similar MIG welding experience a must Be able to read design drawings Demonstrate outstanding organisational skills and an ability to plan forward Have attention to detail Value a safety first and team culture What's in it for You?
