Mercy Hospice delivers specialist palliative care to people in central Auckland catchment living with life-limiting illness. We focus on enhancing quality of life and supporting families and whanau through compassionate, holistic care that meets physical, emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual needs. Our retail stores play a vital role in supporting this work, generating essential funds that help us continue providing care and services to our community.
Te turanga / The role
Due to internal promotion, we are now looking for a new Retail Shop Manager to lead our Blockhouse Bay Store in its next chapter. The Retail Shop Manager is responsible for the operational aspects and daily activity of our Blockhouse Bay for Mercy retail shop, including managing the store's health and safety for the staff and volunteers. The successful applicant will be expected to reach sales targets as set in the annual business plan.

Key responsibilities of the role:
Managing the operational aspects and daily activity of the shop.
Working Wednesday - Saturday, 32 hours per week.
Demonstrating outstanding customer service skills.
Communicate efficiently and effectively with customers and volunteers.
Representing the Mercy Hospice mission and values in the community.
Managing and sorting and pricing incoming donations.

Highly organised with the ability to manage a busy and varied workload.
Flexibility to ensure store can operate smoothly and successfully.
Keenness and skill to connect and create appeal for all ranges of customer demographics.
Positive engagement with MH initiatives and campaigns.
Displays critical thinking to ensure store capitalizes on donations and utilizes retail space efficiently.
