Part time, Fixed term, FTTE up to: 0.6, Start Date: 14/09/2026, End Date: 10/12/2026 (Project- supporting Year 0 student entry) Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts Matamata Christian School is seeking a skilled and passionate part-time teacher to help integrate our newest Year 0 students into our junior classroom. Due to recent roll growth, our junior class now supports a wide spectrum of learners—from children who are brand new to school to those who are already well established. To support this growth, funding is available for an additional teacher to focus on building foundational skills and supporting a smooth transition for new entrants through to the end of the 2026 school year. We are looking for an outstanding educator with a proven ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students across the Year 0 year level. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of the foundational skills students need as they start school. The ideal candidate will be a reflective and relational practitioner who identifies strongly with the school’s special character and is willing to work mornings each day. This would suit any professional teacher including a recently retired person. Because this is fixed-term and part-time it would not be suitable for overseas applicants. Remuneration The terms and conditions, including base salary, are set by the Primary Teachers’ Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers is pro-rated and based on a salary range from $61,329 to $103,086, depending on qualifications and experience. The actual base salary will be established through a salary assessment once the appointment is confirmed. The role is to start as soon as possible.
