Canterbury Health Laboratories is seeking a skilled andmotivated Phlebotomist to join our Blood Test Centre team. This is anopportunity to play an important role in supporting patient care by providingsafe, efficient and accurate blood collection services across our locations. About the role As a phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collectingblood samples from inpatients and outpatients while ensuring patients receive apositive and professional experience. You will: Collectblood samples safely and efficiently, with minimum discomfort to patients Ensuresamples are collected into the correct containers and handledappropriately for the tests requested Ensuresamples are collected within clinically appropriate timeframes anddelivered to the correct location for processing Providekind, courteous and respectful service to patients, clients, staff andmembers of the public Protectpatient privacy and maintain confidentiality Registersamples accurately in the Delphic Laboratory Information System (LIS) Processelectronic orders and undertake pre-analytical sample processing Maintainknowledge of laboratory tests and codes Adaptto new technology, techniques and processes as they are introduced Participatein departmental meetings, training and ongoing education Contributeto continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of service Supportcolleagues and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment Undertakeother duties as required across the Blood Test Centre and relevantlaboratory areas About you You will be an experienced Phlebotomist who is confidentworking with patients and committed to providing a high-quality service. You will bring: CurrentMedical Sciences Council of New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate(APC) as a Phlebotomist Demonstratedexperience and competence in collecting blood samples from patients Excellentinterpersonal and communication skills Strongorganisational skills and attention to detail Agenuine client-focused approach and commitment to quality outcomes Theability to work effectively as part of a team and foster positive workingrelationships Awillingness to support colleagues and contribute to improving teamperformance Aproactive approach to learning and maintaining your professional knowledgeand skills Theability to work calmly and professionally in a busy patient-focusedenvironment Join our team Every interaction with a patient matters.
