Because of our scale wehaveauniqueopportunity to build our in-house capability to model these hazards and their consequences, to develop mitigation strategies to makeAuckland more resilient andto reducecosts for our residents. We are recruitingspecialists and subject matter experts to be part of this team, from science, asset management, programme management and digital engineering backgrounds. Their work will integrate hazard science, exposure, vulnerability modelling, financial risk analysis and spatial data expertise into a single in-house function, streamlining Auckland Council’s approach to natural hazard risk management. This will enhance council’s ability to make consistent, evidence-based decisions about resilience, public safety, land use and insurance. This programme team will be split across our existing Asset Management Centre of Excellence (who work to improve asset management practices across the whole Auckland Council Group), and our Natural Hazards Team (who coordinate our understanding and response to natural hazards across the organisation). We are looking for a Principal Asset Digital Engineering Specialist who will be based in the Asset Management Centre of Excellence, and will collaborate with the Natural Hazards Team and others across the organisation, to develop and implement an organisation-wide Building Information Management (BIM) Strategy to ensure that our assets are well managed and our natural hazard risk is understood and managed for all built assets. You could expect to work on: collaboratingwith various departments and stakeholders to ensure the successful adoption and integration of the BIM strategy providingexpert advice ondigital engineering andBIM overseeing the development,maintenanceand updatingof BIM models for built assets improvinghow Auckland receives data about vested assets from developers training and supporting ourkaimahiin the use of BIM tools and processes monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of the BIM strategy in managing natural hazards You will be based in our office in the Auckland City Centre and we offer some flexibility to work from home or at other council offices. This role requires experience in thedigital engineeringspace.Youhave experience in similar roles within large, complex, or political organisations. We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements: strong knowledge of BIM tools, processes and ISO19650 understanding of natural hazard impacts on assets experience in system improvement, BIMdata qualitymanagementand implementation of BIM systems excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders We still encourage you to apply if you have some but notallthese requirements.
