This is where our Manager Health & Safety plays a pivotal role. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Manager Health & Safety will be responsible for leading and evolving Te Papa's overarching health and safety framework. In addition to developing policy, monitoring and evaluating performance, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, the role will lead the development and delivery of programmes that build understanding, capability, and confidence in health and safety across the organisation. The successful candidate will have: A tertiary qualification (specialist H&S qualification preferred) 10+ years of experience in health and safety, ideally within a complex operational environment (experience with hazardous chemicals preferred) Extensive knowledge of the New Zealand legislative environment, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, ACC requirements, and relevant industry standards and guidelines Strong communication skills, with a focus on influencing, coaching, and building trusted relationships The Manager Health & Safety will be a visible and influential leader, helping to foster a culture where people look out for one another, take shared responsibility for safety, and continuously seek better ways of working. Through your leadership, you'll help ensure that everyone who works at or visits Te Papa can enjoy and contribute to this extraordinary institution with confidence. For more details, please refer to the attached Position Description. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, based at Te Papa Tongarewa, 55 Cable Street, Wellington.
